Climate Change and Heat-Related Deaths: A Closer Look
A recent article published by The Hill, written by Zack Budryk, emphasized the "record number of Americans killed by heat" in the year 2023. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, extreme heat claimed the lives of at least 2,325 people last year. These figures include deaths where heat was both an underlying and contributing factor.
Climate Change Narratives and the Media
The focus of the article was on climate change and the goal, like many climate change articles, is to persuade the public to accept the green agenda. However, it raises the question of why the media rarely reports on the number of people killed each year by extreme cold, which is often higher than heat-related deaths. The answer may lie in the media's and Democrats' desire to push their agenda, regardless of the facts.
Questionable Reporting Practices
This situation is reminiscent of how the media, CDC, Anthony Fauci, and other authorities persuaded the public to comply with government directives on COVID, which had devastating effects on children and small businesses. Instead of only reporting deaths directly caused by COVID, the numbers were inflated by including deaths from comorbidities such as cancer, strokes, heart attacks, obesity, and other ailments if the deceased also had COVID at the time of death.
Interpreting the Data
The researchers behind the "heat deaths" data included deaths where heat may have been a contributing factor. However, if a 90-year-old with cancer, lung disease, or heart issues died during a heatwave, their death would be attributed to "extreme heat". This approach seems questionable.
Furthermore, the reported 2,325 "heat" deaths, the highest in 25 years, still represent less than one tenth of a percent of the three million Americans who die each year. It is concerning that many journalists and Democrats are willing to disrupt our way of life, our economy, and millions of jobs related to oil, natural gas, and coal to ostensibly reduce this small number of deaths.
Overlooking the Benefits of Fossil Fuels
Why is there no study showing how many people have been preserved and saved each year by central air and heat because we use coal, oil, and natural gas? Why is there no mention of how people with asthma have a much better quality of life because they can keep their windows closed and not worry about temperature regulation due to central air? Why is there no discussion of how many lives are preserved and saved because of all the modern conveniences and products derived from oil?
Media Bias and Climate Change
In another news piece, a journalist reporting on "triple-digit heat" that is set to "scorch millions," failed to acknowledge the record cold and snow in Montana in August. Despite 160 years of energy production that supposedly causes warming, they are warning people of hypothermia in August.
Bottom Line
Indoctrination can be a dangerous thing. Children and others are being influenced by AI, educators, and the media. They are taught not to ask questions or do research.
