Kamala Harris's Unconvincing Talking Points
As Vice President Kamala Harris's popularity plummets, the talking points from the Democratic National Committee, Harris's campaign, and mainstream media become increasingly absurd.
Unsuccessful Attempts to Discredit the Opposition
Attempts to label J.D. Vance and Donald Trump as "weird" fell flat, particularly when compared to the peculiar behavior of vice presidential candidate Tim Walz and would-be First Gentleman Doug Emhoff. The claim that the energetic and relentless Trump was "exhausted," "senile," and "confused" also failed to convince voters, who are aware that Harris's workdays are typically much shorter, or sometimes non-existent.
Despite this, Harris has falsely described the physically and mentally challenged Biden as "absolutely authoritative" and "very bold and vibrant." Her latest claim is that Trump is a "fascist," a "dictator," and "unfit" for office. However, this new talking point is unlikely to halt the decline of Harris's campaign.
Two Diametrically Opposed Visions
Voters perceive the election as a clash of two completely opposing visions. On one side is Trump's proven track record from 2017 to 2020, which includes border security, no major foreign wars, stability in the Middle East, deterrence of Russia, Iran, and China, low inflation and interest rates, reduced crime and taxes, a strong military, and opposition to mandatory electric vehicle mandates, biological males competing in women's sports, and the woke/DEI agenda.
On the other side is the Biden-Harris record from 2021 to 2024, characterized by unchecked illegal immigration, a broken border, hyperinflation, high interest rates, ongoing regional wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, and support for the unpopular DEI/Woke agenda.
Harris's Sudden Policy Shifts
Harris herself is aware that the Biden-Harris years were a failure, which is why she has abandoned most of their far-left policies—policies that she has supported for much of her adult life. In a sudden about-face over the past 90 or so days, Harris now supports increased police funding, border security, fossil fuel energy, and increased defense spending.
Several vulnerable incumbent Democrat senators in swing states are aligning more with Trump's issues than with Harris and her unpopular vice-presidential record. Voters likely conclude that if Trump doubles down on his record, while even Harris and many senators temporarily align with it, then it must be more effective and popular than Harris's own.
Unfounded Accusations Against Trump
Harris's claim that Trump is a fascist and insurrectionist is not convincing. Repeatedly invoking "January 6th" does not convince voters that Trump is a threat. They remember that Harris praised the far more violent protests of 2020 and drummed up support to bail out jailed violent protestors.
The slur that Trump is a fascist also falls flat. The Obama and Biden-Harris administrations used the CIA and FBI to interfere in the 2016 and 2020 elections by promoting the fake Steele dossier and suppressing news about Hunter Biden's incriminating laptop.
Questionable Standards of Fitness and Decorum
As for Trump being "unfit" and lacking "decorum," one must question what the Biden-Harris standards are. Are these the standards that allowed a trans activist to expose his breasts on camera at a White House "pride party?" Or the standards that allowed Biden to reportedly insult Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and brag about locking Trump up?
The Bottom Line
The election will not be decided based on these hollow talking points or fabricated media narratives. Only two factors matter: Which candidate's past record and current agenda most appeal to voters? And which candidate appears the most authentic and genuine?
