Rising Rejection of Muslim Immigration in Germany: Public Opinion and Concerns

Rising Rejection of Muslim Immigration in Germany

Increased Opposition to Muslim Refugees

A recent Insa poll commissioned by the Nius media group has revealed an increase in Germany's rejection of immigrants from Islamic countries. The survey indicates that over half (52%) of the respondents agree with the statement that Germany should no longer accept refugees from Islamic countries. Only 34% disagreed or somewhat disagreed with this statement.

Concerns About Cultural Identity

The survey also showed a high level of agreement with the statement, "in certain areas of my town or village, I feel like I am no longer in Germany." 57% of respondents agreed with this sentiment, while 36% did not share this feeling. Furthermore, 54% of participants expressed fear that Germans would become a minority in their own country, while 37% were not worried about this possibility.

Belief in the Great Replacement Theory

The poll also revealed that a relative majority of respondents support the Great Replacement theory, which is classified as a right-wing extremist viewpoint by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV). According to the survey, 45% of respondents agreed with the statement, "I believe that Europeans are gradually being replaced by immigrants from Africa and the Middle East." However, 41% rejected this statement.

Perception of Racism Against Whites

Two-thirds (65%) of Germans agreed with the statement that there is racism against Whites in Germany, while only 22% disagreed. A strong majority also believed that integration has not been successful, with 58% responding negatively to the question of whether migrants have largely integrated well in Germany. Only 29% of respondents believed that migrants have integrated well.

Impact on the German School System

An overwhelming 75% of Germans agreed with the statement that the current migration is overburdening the German school system. Only 22% did not see a problem. The German school system has been reported to be facing challenges due to an increasing immigrant population, which in some cities, makes up the majority of students. Issues include assault on teachers and principals, overcrowded classrooms, language difficulties, and aggressive clashes between minority groups.

Public Sentiment on Immigration

The survey is part of a series of polls indicating a growing dissatisfaction among Germans with mass immigration. The anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is currently the most popular among German youth and the second most popular in the country overall. This popularity comes despite a slight drop in the party's overall support in recent months. Recent events, such as a march by approximately 1,000 Muslims from a radical pro-Sharia group calling for a caliphate in Germany, have sparked national debates about the country's growing Muslim population. Additionally, crime committed by foreigners in the country has reportedly hit a record high of 41%.
