The Technological Boom of the Late 19th Century

Before the Reformation, Europe was dominated by a single religious truth, leaving no room for other perspectives. The Reformation, however, divided this truth, creating a space for scientific truth to emerge. This led to the development of remarkable technologies. For instance, in 1742, Benjamin Robins discovered that combining Newton's law of motion and Robert Boyle's equation of state of gases allowed for the calculation of the velocity of an artillery projectile. This discovery greatly improved the precision of artillery. European rulers recognized the power of science, and this led to a technological revolution in the late 19th century.

However, the world as we knew it ended abruptly with the outbreak of World War I. The European nations used their new technologies and scientific potential to wage war. The war resulted in a shift in the role of science. The belief in the Christian God and the White Man's Burden was shattered, leaving a void that was filled by ideologies like nationalism, socialism, communism, and fascism. These ideologies recognized the importance of science and began to nationalize it, leading to distorted forms of science like Nazi biology, eugenics, and Soviet Lysenkoism.

During the Cold War, both the East and the West agreed on the importance of science. In the East, science was nationalized, with research thriving in areas that didn't need to support communist ideology but aimed to compete with the capitalist bloc. In the West, science was gradually replaced by the Anglo-Saxon model of science. However, science in the West also began to decline due to the influence of Big State and Big Business. The federal government began to increase public funding, leading to research areas where politically desirable results were favored. Science was also corrupted by Big Business, with companies manipulating research to serve their interests.

The corruption of science led to a series of disasters. For example, pharmaceutical companies convinced doctors that chronic pain was a widespread problem and aggressively marketed opioids as safe and non-addictive, leading to an opioid crisis in the United States. Food corporations also manipulated food science to make it appear that natural fats were the main problem, not industrially processed sugars. This led to an addiction to junk food in America.

The West Loses Its Mind

The Covid epidemic marked a turning point for Western science. Big Business saw the epidemic as an opportunity to sell billions of vaccines to panicked governments worldwide. The American left, still reeling from Trump's election victory, used the epidemic to undermine his presidency. The election of Joe Biden marked the final blow. The interests of Big Pharma aligned with those of the federal government, leading to a massive push for vaccine mandates.

The End of Science

Like American science, European science has also been affected by the influence of Big State and Big Business. After 300 years, the Enlightenment project of Western Science has reached a critical juncture. At the end of the 19th century, science brought about remarkable progress. However, by the end of the 20th century, science had been corrupted by Big Governments and Big Business. The Covid crisis in 2020 marked the final collapse of Western Science.
