US Intelligence Contradicts DOJ's Claim of Foreign Interference: ODNI Finds No Evidence in 2024 Election

US Intelligence Contradicts DOJ's Claim of "Foreign Interference"

ODNI Announces No Observed Foreign Interference in 2024 Election

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) made a statement on Friday, asserting that they have not detected any foreign interference in the 2024 election. This statement seems to contradict recent comments made by Attorney General Merrick Garland. The Foreign Malign Influence Center (FMIC) of the ODNI, in a two-page report, stated that the intelligence community has not seen any evidence of foreign actors attempting to meddle in the conduct of the 2024 elections. This information was initially reported by Natalie Winters, a co-host of the Steve Bannon WarRoom podcast.

Russia Poses Threat, But No Evidence of Meddling Found

While the report did note that Russia represents the most significant foreign influence threat to the election, it did not find any proof of actual interference. This statement from the FMIC comes shortly after Garland issued warnings about potential foreign influence targeting the election.

Garland Announces Actions Against Alleged Russian Schemes

On Wednesday, Garland revealed measures against what he characterised as Russian-orchestrated plans to influence the upcoming election. He disclosed an indictment against two RT (Russia Today) employees, who are accused of directing $10 million to an American company to disseminate pro-Russia content. The company in question was identified as Tenet Media, owned by influencer Lauren Cheng and her husband, Liam Donovan.

DOJ Allegations Used to Smear Conservative Influencers

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Tenet Media used the funds to employ prominent conservative influencers, including Benny Johnson, Tim Pool, Dave Rubin, and Lauren Southern. These allegations by the DOJ have been used by media outlets and left-wing figures to launch what appears to be a coordinated smear campaign against these conservative influencers, many of whom are known for their pro-Trump content. Importantly, while the investigation is ongoing, the DOJ has not accused any of these individuals of any wrongdoing.

DOJ Seizes 32 Internet Domains Allegedly Used by Russia

In addition to the indictment, the DOJ seized 32 internet domains allegedly used by Russia to impersonate American media outlets in an attempt to influence voters in elections, including the 2024 presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and President Donald Trump. Garland asserted at a round-table on Wednesday that these schemes demonstrate the lengths to which the Russian government, including at its highest levels, is willing to go to undermine the democratic process.

Bottom Line

This situation raises questions about the credibility of claims regarding foreign interference in the upcoming election. While the Attorney General warns of Russian schemes, the intelligence community has not observed any such interference. This discrepancy is worth pondering. What are your thoughts on this matter?
