Americans Fear the End of the World Due to Climate Change

According to a recent survey, almost half of Americans, accounting for 48%, are of the belief that they will witness the end of the world within their lifetime. The survey interviewed 5,000 Americans from different parts of the country, inquiring about their views on the impacts of climate change.

States Most Concerned About Climate Change

Among the states, Hawaii topped the list with 66% of respondents agreeing that climate change could lead to the world's end during their lifetime. Vermont and New Mexico followed closely with 59% and 56% of respondents, respectively, sharing the same belief. Washington and Minnesota were not far behind, with more than half of the respondents, 55% and 54% respectively, expressing similar concerns.

Climate Change Impact on Individual States

The survey also asked respondents if they believed their state would be more affected by climate change than others. Once again, Hawaiians were the most worried, with 61% agreeing that their state would be most impacted. Alaskans and Californians followed closely in expressing their concern.

Desire to Be More Environmentally Conscious

The survey revealed that a significant majority, 65% of all respondents, expressed a desire to do more for the environment. Interestingly, 37% of respondents admitted that they take environmentally friendly actions because it makes them feel like a good person.
