Trump's Success Worrying Democrats
James Carville, a seasoned political strategist, has voiced his concerns over the rising popularity of Donald Trump. He urged the Democrats to rethink their strategies as their current efforts seem to be ineffective. Carville expressed his disappointment over the declining concern among Americans about the events of January 6. He stated, "Trump's more ahead than he’s ever been. Everything we’re throwing is like spaghetti at a wall, and none of it is sticking, including me."
Need for a New Approach
Carville emphasized the need for a different approach, expressing his frustration over the current situation. He said, "We gotta try to think of something different. Because what we’re doing is really, really not working."
Carville's Frustration Over Ineffectiveness
Carville, who was the lead strategist in Bill Clinton’s successful 1992 Presidential campaign, expressed his dissatisfaction over his inability to influence the outcome. He said, "The opinion I’ve come to is that I don’t matter. You can prepare and you can be on TV, you can write pieces, you can have a YouTube channel, you can have a podcast and nothing, nothing!"
MSNBC's Concern Over Americans' Beliefs
MSNBC commentators also expressed their disappointment that Americans are no longer convinced by their narratives. This came after a PBS Newshour/NPR/Marist poll revealed that more Americans believe Joe Biden is a threat to Democracy than Donald Trump.
Trump's Likely Victory
The belief that Trump is likely to win the presidency and that there is little the Democrats can do about it, especially with Joe Biden as their candidate, is widely held. Top pollster Frank Lunzt, who initially thought Trump was "done" after January 6 and impeachment, now reluctantly admits that Trump is likely to win the presidency. Former CNN host Chris Cuomo also recently said that Trump will win the election, stating that he’s never seen as much energy behind a candidate, even more so than Obama in 2008.
