Majority of Europeans Concerned About Excessive Immigration and Government Response

Majority of Europeans Believe Their Governments are Accepting Excessive Immigration

A comprehensive survey spanning all 27 European Union countries has revealed that the majority of citizens feel their nations are admitting an excessive number of foreign migrants.

Survey Results on Immigration

The study, carried out by BVA Xsight for ARTE Europe Weekly, a project spearheaded by the French-German TV channel ARTE GEIE, showed that 71% of respondents believe there is an overabundance of unregulated immigration. Additionally, the survey found that 85% of participants feel that governments should take more action to tackle irregular migration. Only 39% of those surveyed expressed the belief that Europe requires migrants from other regions.

Countries with Highest Immigration Concerns

The nations where the highest number of people expressed concerns about excessive immigration include Greece (with 90% of respondents), Cyprus (84%), Ireland (78%), Austria (77%), Germany (77%), and Bulgaria (76%).

Widespread Opposition to Mass Migration

These findings align with a recent shocking poll from Germany that indicates a broad-based opposition to mass migration. According to recent German government statistics, 41% of all crime suspects are foreigners, despite representing a much smaller proportion of the population. Last week, it was reported that a German politician was found guilty of 'incitement' by a district court and fined $6000 for sharing a link to these government statistics on crimes committed by migrants, specifically rape, and questioning why these figures are disproportionately high.
