Navigating the Political Landscape: Unpacking 'Our Democracy' versus 'Their Duplicity'

Navigating the Political Landscape: Unpacking 'Our Democracy' versus 'Their Duplicity''Our Democracy' or 'Their Duplicity' Written by Thaddeus McCotter for American Greatness, this piece discusses the current political climate in the United States, particularly focusing on the upcoming presidential election. The Democrats, along with the "Never Trump" group, are pushing the narrative that the Republican candidate, former President Trump, is a divisive figure. They argue that he must be defeated to allow the Democrat nominee, Vice President Harris, to unite the nation.

Political Divisions

The Democrats and Never Trumpers insist that Trump, his MAGA supporters, and the GOP are divisive. They also claim that Harris and the Democrats are a unifying political force. For the sake of this discussion, let's assume that Trump and his MAGA and GOP supporters are "divisive" because they oppose the Democrats' radical, extreme, and dangerous agenda. They also champion populist and conservative principles and policies they believe will promote and protect the liberty, prosperity, and security of our free republic.

Democrats as a Divisive Force

Even with this assumption, it's hard for an objective observer to conclude that Harris and her Democrat supporters are a unifying force within our deeply divided nation. The Democrats, by design, are a divisive party that bases its campaigns and policies on identity politics—race, gender, class, etc. They offer the electorate varying and increasing levels of paranoia and dependence on the Leviathan—the administrative state, controlled by their cohorts in the federal bureaucracy.

The DIE Secular Religion

The Democrats demand citizens' obedience to their DIE ("diversity, inclusivity, and equity") secular religion. They define "diversity" by external traits, not internal thoughts, dividing the population into "manageable" political blocs. This approach assumes that physical appearance and economic status determine how you think, which is patronizing, demeaning, and in its worst forms, racist.

State Supremacy

Once an individual has been classified into one of the Democrats' diversity categories, these leftist social engineers will cajole and coerce them into their "inclusive" collective. The left believes the state is the ultimate grantor of rights and that "Our Democracy" must not be impaired by the concept of unalienable, God-given constitutional rights. This belief subordinates citizens' sovereignty to the supremacy of the state.

Socialism and Paranoia

As the Supreme State doles out its licenses, it will decide what is "equitable." This is another of the left's euphemisms for socialism. The Democrats assert that they and their administrative state are needed to protect citizens from various conspiracies. This is a party that labels its opponents as existential threats to "Our Democracy" and demands these opponents be crushed.

Democracy or Party?

Progressives believe they are the champions of "Our Democracy," even as they undermine it to persecute their opponents. When Democrats say "Our Democracy," it is a signal that, translated, means "Our Party." They conflate the fortunes of their party with those of the country, allowing them to engage in cognitive dissonance and self-justification as they push their agenda on Americans.

Unity or Uniformity?

Republicans also believe that their fortunes will save "Our Republic." However, there is a critical distinction. Democrats define "unity" as a uniformity of agreement. Republicans define "unity" as a uniformity of acceptance. This difference explains why Democrats are determined to force their DIE ideology on people and why Republicans oppose it.

Pluralism and Federalism

The answer to state coercion is still federalism and pluralism. A limited, divided government charged with protecting the unalienable God-given rights of sovereign citizens remains the best path to pursue happiness. The acceptance required is of the ground rules of the nation—of the constitution, of the means of effectuating constructive change, of someone else's thoughts and their right to hold and advocate them, and of your reciprocal right to disagree and oppose their ideas.

Their Duplicity

The left considers federalism and pluralism as obstacles to the implementation of their autocratic, socialist state. They use the word "diversity" to replace "pluralism." They also push their "Our Democracy" narrative to supplant the reality that we live in a constitutional republic with limits on its powers and the duty to serve as a guardian of our unalienable God-given rights and the U.S. Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. In doing so, the left reveals that their clamor for "Our Democracy" merely marks "Their Duplicity."

Bottom Line

The current political landscape in the United States is characterized by divisions and differing ideologies. The Democrats' push for "Our Democracy" could be seen as a mask for their own duplicity. It's essential to critically examine these narratives and their implications for our nation's future. What are your thoughts on this matter?
