The State of American Science and Medicine
Understanding the Current State
Over the past few years, we have learned a lot about the state of American science and medicine. It appears that American science is more focused on marketing and regulatory capture than actual research. The medical field, on the other hand, seems to be contributing more to sickness than to healing.
These institutions have been accused of abusing their unique positions to increase their power and wealth at the expense of human well-being. Some even view them as criminal cartels, exploiting their positions for personal gain.
Moreover, American science and medicine have merged with the state, big finance, pharmaceutical industry, military, and intelligence agencies, creating a new form of fascism.
Defining Real Science
The Oxford English Dictionary defines science as "the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation, experimentation, and the testing of theories against the evidence obtained." This definition emphasizes that science is a process, not an outcome, and it's always evolving.
However, it seems that contemporary science has deviated from these principles.
The Current Practices in Science and Medicine
Today, American science and medicine are characterized by privatized knowledge, insiderism, self-interest, and blind faith in fraudulent data. This is a far cry from the idealized norms of the past.
The Destruction of American Science and Medicine
The current state of American science and medicine is largely due to decades of bad law and policy influenced by the pharmaceutical industry. Three laws, in particular, have caused significant damage: The 1980 Bayh-Dole Act, the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, and the 2005 PREP Act.
Restoring Science and Medicine
To restore the integrity of science and medicine, we need to remove these harmful structures and incentives. This could involve repealing the aforementioned laws, removing all intellectual property protections for pharmaceutical products, abolishing the NIH, FDA, and CDC, and enshrining the right to bodily autonomy into the Constitution.
Moreover, we need to reform private and public scientific and medical institutions, including liability insurance, private health insurance, state licensing boards, private licensing boards, medical societies, and scientific journals.
Bottom Line
The current state of American science and medicine is concerning, to say the least. However, by acknowledging the reality and taking action, we can work towards a better future.
