ZeroHedge Debate: Who Will Be Worse For Israel, Trump Or Kamala?

The question of whether Trump or Kamala will be worse for Israel was the focus of a recent ZeroHedge debate. Americans are becoming increasingly frustrated with their hard-earned money being used to fund mass violence. Both Trump and Kamala have shown no signs of straying from the status quo regarding Israel, prompting the question of who will be more detrimental. The debate saw independent journalist Michael Tracey arguing that Trump would be the most fervently pro-Israel President in history. On the other hand, Harrison Smith of InfoWars contended that the former President's political maneuvering could not be worse than the potential damage from the Biden-Harris administration. Liam McCollum of the "Human ReAction Podcast" and the Mises Institute moderated the discussion.

Trump: The Peace President?

Smith argued that Trump's anti-war tendencies and his ability to defy entrenched foreign policy officials make him a better choice than the establishment-controlled Kamala Harris. He stated, "You're either voting for the puppet of the Israeli lobby or somebody who participates in their scheme sometimes but has also shown and proven that he has the ability to defy their greatest and largest goals."

Are Democrats Not Pro-Israel Enough?

Tracey countered this argument by pointing out that Trump's record in office and his current rhetoric are more extreme than Kamala's. He stated, "Trump is running on the most fanatically pro-Israel platform of any major candidate ever." He also noted that while Biden and Harris have supplied more armaments to Israel than any other administration, Trump has criticized them for not doing enough and for catering to Hamas.

Symbolic Moves Versus Genocide

Smith argued that Trump's major first-term moves, such as moving the U.S. embassy and "recognizing" the Golan Heights, were largely symbolic and did not exacerbate conflict or cause war. He stated, "They're the low hanging fruit. They're just things that he could do that would make these people happy that wouldn't change anything on the ground."

Avoiding War With Iran

Smith also pointed to recent comments by Vice Presidential Nominee JD Vance and Trump, both of whom expressed a desire to avoid war with Iran, as evidence of MAGA's restraint compared to the establishment wings of both parties. However, Tracey noted that Trump still has the backing of hawkish GOP members like Tom Cotton and Marco Rubio, as well as fervent Zionist religious fanatics.

Bottom Line

The question of who will be worse for Israel, Trump or Kamala, is a complex one. It's clear that both candidates have their pros and cons, and the debate between Tracey and Smith highlights these differences. What are your thoughts on this issue?
